Close(r) is an exploration of Canada’s unique diversity within households, rooted in my fascination for family tradition and Canadian identity. Over the course of three months, I spent 24 hours in the homes of seven families across the province of Ontario. This body of work both celebrates the differences, and sheds light on the similarities of those who call Canada ‘home’, while striving to capture the raw, un-staged and intimate moments of everyday family life.

This snapshot of Ontario families is just the beginning of a nationwide project. Close(r) will eventually encompass a much larger and in depth narrative, covering households from all corners of this vast country.
